Notifications for New Leads in Workflows
With Stack's Workflows, you can seamlessly manage tasks that were previously handled by Triggers and Campaigns, all within a single, intuitive builder.
Sending Notifications for New Leads
When a new lead is added to a campaign, you can set up Stack to send an email or SMS notification to yourself or your clients. Here's how to configure these notifications:
Setting Up a New Workflow
- Start from Scratch: Begin by selecting the option to create a new workflow from scratch.
- Create Workflow: Click on "Create Workflow" to initiate a new process.
- Add New Workflow Trigger: Define the event that will start the workflow.
Configuring Notifications
Once your workflow trigger is set up:
- Add Your First Action: Click on "Add your first Action" to specify what happens when the trigger is activated.
- Send Internal Notification: Choose "Send Internal Notification" from the action options.
- Select Notification Type:
- Email Notification: Send an email alert.
- SMS Notification: Send a text message alert.
Understanding Rate Limiting on Notifications
To ensure efficient processing and prevent overload, Stack has implemented rate limits on internal notifications within workflows:
- 500 notifications per 5 minutes per user for each workflow.
- For emails: 500 notifications per 5 minutes per user email.
- For SMS: 500 notifications per 5 minutes per user's phone.
- For in-app notifications: 500 notifications per 5 minutes per user ID.
Why Rate Limiting is Important
Without these limits, sending notifications could lead to excessive updates and delays. For instance, if you add 300,000 contacts to a workflow and send notifications to a single user, that user would receive 300,000 emails or messages in a short span. This would not only overwhelm the user's inbox but also slow down the processing of other workflow actions.
Rate limiting helps manage these scenarios efficiently, ensuring that notifications are sent in a controlled manner and preventing the sending of bulk emails to a single user rapidly.
