Sending Contact Information to Google Sheets Using Webhooks and Zapier

Overview​

Integrating Stack with Google Sheets via Webhooks and Zapier allows you to automatically send contact information from Stack to a Google Sheet. This integration can help streamline your data management and improve efficiency in handling contact information.

Steps to Set Up the Integration​

1. Create a Webhook in Stack​

  1. Navigate to the Automation section in your Stack account.
  2. Select Workflows and create a new workflow or edit an existing one.
  3. Add a Webhook action:
    • Click on the plus icon to add a new action.
    • Choose the "Send Webhook" option.
    • Enter the webhook URL that you will get from Zapier in the next steps.

2. Set Up Zapier to Connect with Google Sheets​

  1. Log in to your Zapier account and create a new Zap.
  2. Choose Webhooks by Zapier as the trigger app.
    • Select "Catch Hook" as the trigger event.
    • Zapier will provide you with a unique webhook URL. Copy this URL and paste it into the Webhook action in Stack.
  3. Test the Trigger:
    • Return to Stack and trigger the workflow to send a test webhook.
    • In Zapier, confirm that the test data is received successfully.

3. Configure Google Sheets as the Action​

  1. Select Google Sheets as the action app in Zapier.
  2. Choose the Action Event:
    • Typically, you will select "Create Spreadsheet Row" to add new contact information to your Google Sheet.
  3. Connect your Google Account and select the specific spreadsheet and worksheet where you want the data to be added.
  4. Map the Data:
    • Match the fields from Stack to the columns in your Google Sheet.
  5. Test the Action:
    • Run a test to ensure that the data is correctly added to your Google Sheet.

4. Activate Your Zap​

Once everything is set up and tested, turn on your Zap to start automatically sending contact information from Stack to Google Sheets.
