Workflow Action: Webhook

A Webhook is a powerful tool that allows your app to send data to other applications whenever specific events occur. Think of it as a way for Stack to automatically communicate with other systems seamlessly.

How Webhooks Work

Webhooks operate by firing off either a POST or GET request to a specified API URL. This can be incredibly useful for integrating with other platforms or services that your business relies on.

Methods Available

  • POST Method: This method sends data to the server, typically used when you need to create or update resources.

  • GET Method: This method retrieves data from the server, useful when you need to request information.

Data Handling

When using webhooks, you can choose to send:

  • Standard Data: Predefined data sets that are automatically included in the webhook.
  • Custom Data/Headers: Tailor the data and headers to fit your specific needs, allowing for more flexible integrations.

Important Note

Keep in mind that webhooks send data in a one-way direction. This means that while Stack will transmit the information to the specified endpoint, it does not process or handle any responses that might be returned from the POST or GET requests.

Use webhooks to enhance your workflows by connecting Stack with other tools and services, ensuring your processes are efficient and automated.
