Workflow Action: Find Contact
The Find Contact action in Stack allows you to locate a contact using specific values. This feature is particularly useful when working with the Inbound Webhook Trigger or Marketplace Triggers that provide contact information.
How It Works
- Trigger Compatibility: The Find Contact action is designed to work with Inbound Webhook or Marketplace Triggers. These triggers must carry some form of contact information for the action to function.
- Execution Conditions: If a contact is already involved in the current workflow execution, the Find Contact action will be skipped to avoid redundant processing.
Using Field Values
You can find a contact by using values from either standard or custom fields. If you configure multiple fields, the action will search for a contact that matches all specified field values.

- You can locate a contact using their contact ID provided by an Inbound Webhook Trigger or a custom Marketplace Trigger.

- Store an external reference, such as a "Stripe Customer ID", in a custom field. You can then use this ID to find the contact via an Inbound Webhook Trigger or a Custom Marketplace Trigger.
