The Order Placed trigger in Stack is a powerful tool for automating tasks and actions whenever a customer places an order. This feature can help you streamline follow-up communications, update records, and perform any necessary actions immediately after an order is confirmed.

This trigger activates when a customer places an order. It automates actions such as:

  • Sending order confirmation emails

You can also configure filters to target specific conditions related to the order, like cart value or product type.

How to Configure

Choose a Workflow Trigger

  1. Select Order Placed from the list of available triggers.

Workflow Trigger Name

  • Enter a meaningful name for your trigger, such as Order Placed.

Filters

Use filters to specify the conditions under which the workflow will be activated. For instance, you can filter based on cart value to set different actions depending on the total order amount.

Value Descriptions

  • Cart Value: The total value of items in the customer's cart. (Optional)
  • Operator: Use comparison operators like Equals to, Greater than, Greater than or Equal to, Less than, etc. (Optional)

Example

Imagine you want to reward customers who place orders with a cart value of $150 or more by sending them a thank-you email and a discount coupon for their next purchase.

Configuration

  • Trigger: Order Placed
  • Filters:
    • Cart Value: Greater than or Equal to
    • Value: $150

Actions

When the trigger is activated:

  • Send an automated thank-you email to the customer, expressing appreciation for their purchase.
  • Include a discount coupon for the next purchase in the thank-you email.
  • Update the customer profile in the CRM system to indicate they are eligible for loyalty benefits.

This setup ensures that high-value customers receive personalized attention, fostering loyalty and encouraging repeat purchases.
