Execution Logs & Enrollment History Enhancements
Overview
Execution Logs and Enrollment History are essential components of Workflows in Stack. They provide a detailed view of how your contacts progress through workflows, capturing every action they experience. These tools help you monitor progress, identify errors, and ensure everything runs smoothly.
We've introduced some exciting updates and features to enhance your experience with these tools. These changes are designed to simplify understanding each step, quickly resolve issues, and streamline your workflow process.
Upgrades
Execution Logs - UI/UX Changes
View Details Hyperlink
The "View Details" option, previously an icon, is now a user-friendly hyperlink. This change makes it easier to access execution details for specific actions.
Improved Error Visibility
If an action encounters an error, the Status field or View Details link will be highlighted. This enhancement helps you quickly identify and address issues without having to sift through extensive data.
Highlighting Opened Rows
When you open the Details section for a specific row, the row will be highlighted. This visual cue helps you keep track of the current row you're analyzing.
Action Column Overhaul
The "Action" column now displays the Action Name you assign, replacing the previous display of only the action type. Hovering over the Action Name reveals the actual action type for additional context.
Enhanced Sorting in Filters
In the filter dropdown, actions that are part of the workflow appear first, followed by other actions in a separate section. This organization makes filtering by action types more intuitive and helps prioritize actions linked to your workflows.
New Workflow Statuses
The statuses in Enrollment History now offer better insights into why a contact exited or completed a workflow:
- Workflow Completed: When the contact naturally completes the workflow.
- Removed by Workflow Action: When the contact is removed due to an action within the current workflow.
- Removed by External Workflow Action: When the contact is removed because of an action in a different workflow.
Pagination
Both the Enrollment History and Execution Logs tabs now support pagination. You can choose how many row items to display per page, with options for 10, 25, or 50 rows at a time. This improves performance and usability for large workflows.

Pagination
As with Execution Logs, the Enrollment History tab now supports pagination, allowing you to select the number of rows displayed per page for better performance and usability.
Highlight Contact Path
You can now highlight the path a contact has taken in the builder. Click the "Highlight Contact Path" icon in the Enrollment History or Execution History tab. This action opens the builder and highlights the path the contact followed in the workflow.
Go To Action Button
While reviewing Execution History, if you decide changes are needed for an action, you can directly open the action in the Builder. Click the Go To Action button to navigate directly to the builder and open the Action Sidebar for modifications.
Date and Time Enhancements
Date Format Update
To optimize space, the date format has been updated to MMM-DD (e.g., Oct-21). The time will be displayed when you hover over the date, keeping the view clean while providing necessary details when needed.
Timezone Additions
The Executed On field in the execution logs now includes the timezone in which the action was performed, making it easier to understand when actions occurred across different time zones.
Custom Date Range Option
You now have more control over the date range when viewing enrollment history and execution logs. In addition to pre-set options (Today, Yesterday, etc.), you can select a custom start and end date with time, up to a maximum range of 30 days.
Changes in Contact History
Significant changes have been made to the "Contact History" section. By clicking the "View Contact History" icon in the Execution Logs, you can access the contact history of a specific contact. At the top, contact details are available, and the logs display all action executions for all enrollments the contact has had within this workflow. Improved breadcrumbs facilitate easier navigation through Contact History and Execution Logs.
Changes in Execution History
The "Execution History" section has been revamped. Clicking the "View Execution History" icon in the Enrollment History or Execution Logs opens the execution history for a specific enrollment. A separate tab at the top displays contact details. Improved breadcrumbs allow easier navigation back to the logs.
