This trigger activates a workflow when a contact clicks on a designated link. These trigger links can be embedded in emails, SMS, or other communication channels. The workflow is specifically triggered for contacts who click the link, making it a robust tool for targeted engagement.

How to Configure

  1. Choose a Workflow Trigger: Select Trigger Link Clicked from the list of available triggers.

  2. Workflow Trigger Name: Give your trigger a descriptive name, such as "Promo Link Clicked" or "Survey Link Engagement."

  3. Filters: Use filters to determine which specific trigger link will initiate the workflow. Select the desired link from the dropdown menu to focus the workflow activation.

Example

Imagine you want to set up a workflow that sends a follow-up email to contacts who click on a promotional link in an email.

  • Workflow Trigger Name: "Promo Link Engagement Follow-up"

  • Filters:

    • Trigger link: "Spring Sale Promo" (The workflow triggers only when this link is clicked)
  • Workflow Steps:

    • Trigger: Trigger Link Clicked (as configured above)
    • Action: Send Email - Dispatch a follow-up email thanking the contact for their interest and offering a special discount.
    • Action: Update Contact - Tag the contact as "Interested in Promo" to segment these users for future promotional campaigns.
