Workflow Trigger: Task Added

Overview

The Task Added trigger in Stack allows you to kick off a workflow whenever a new task is added to a contact's record. This feature is perfect for automating actions like notifying the assigned user, updating task-related fields, or sending follow-up messages.

Trigger Name

Task Added

Trigger Description

This trigger activates when a new task is added to a contact's record. You can apply filters to specify which tasks should initiate the workflow, such as those assigned to a specific user or containing certain keywords.

How to Configure

  1. Choose a Workflow Trigger:

    • Select Task Added from the list of available triggers.
  2. Workflow Trigger Name:

    • Enter a descriptive name for your trigger, like "Task Added."
  3. Filters:

    • Use filters to refine when the trigger should activate. This helps specify which tasks should start the workflow based on the assigned user.

Filter Options

  • Assigned User: Select specific users to trigger the workflow when a task is assigned to them. You can choose one or multiple users. This is optional.

Example

Suppose you want to create a workflow that triggers when a new task is added and assigned to a specific user. Here's how you can set it up:

  • Workflow Trigger Name: "New Task Assigned"
  • Filters:
    • Assigned User: "John Doe" (The workflow will only trigger if the task is assigned to John Doe)

Workflow Steps

  1. Trigger: Task Added (as configured above)
  2. Action: Send Email - Notify the assigned user about the new task.
  3. Action: Update Task Status - Mark the task as "Notified."

By setting up this workflow, you ensure that users are promptly informed about new tasks and can take action accordingly.
