Workflow Action - GPT History
Overview
The GPT History feature in Stack allows you to save the history of GPT actions. This helps the GPT actions produce more relevant and personalized responses based on past interactions.

Action Details
Type of History
You can store five types of history:
- This Sub Account: Remembers all GPT conversations across all workflows within the sub-account where the history type is set to "This Sub Account".
- This Workflow: Remembers all GPT conversations within the specific workflow where the history type is set to "This Workflow".
- Per Execution: Remembers all GPT conversations within the workflow for a single execution where the history type is set to "Per Execution".
- This Step: Remembers all GPT conversations for the specific action across multiple executions where the history type is set to "This Step".
- Custom: Allows you to create a custom history type that can be used within the same workflow or across multiple workflows.
How to Use
- Select the "GPT Powered By OpenAI" action.
- Switch on "Enable history".
- Choose the "History for" option from the dropdown menu.
- Add any system instructions if necessary.
Advanced Options
- System Instructions: Add instructions to provide more information to the GPT action for more specific and desired outputs. These rules will be followed by all GPT actions.
- Exclude Instructions from History: Use this toggle if you want to exclude system instructions from the history.
- Exclude Responses from History: If enabled, the responses from this action will not be stored in the history. This is useful for responses that are sentiment-based or contain analytics.
Points to Note
- When "Enable History" is activated, GPT-4 models are selected by default.
- History functionality is exclusive to the "Custom" action type.
- History is maintained independently for each contact.
Example
Sending Recommendations to Current Customers
Scenario: Engage with customers based on their previous purchases, recommend new items, and check their interest in other products.
Trigger Setup:
- Trigger: Order Placed
- Name: Order Placed
Workflow Actions:
- GPT Powered by OpenAI: Add GPT actions with history enabled. These actions will use the context of each other's prompts and outputs to prepare emails and check customer sentiment.
- Email: Send the GPT action outputs to customers.
- Wait: Pause to check if the customer has replied to the email.
- If/Else: Branch based on the customer's reply sentiment. Continue the conversation if positive; otherwise, exit the workflow.
Outcome: This automation helps engage customers by sending personalized responses, increasing the chances of a sale.
