The Instagram Interactive Messenger in Stack lets you automate direct message conversations on Instagram. You can include interactive elements like buttons and quick replies. This feature works well with Instagram comment and message triggers to streamline your communication.
Where to Find Instagram Interactive Messenger
To access the Instagram Interactive Messenger, follow these steps:
- Navigate to Automation.
- Select Workflows.
- Open the Workflow Builder.
- Go to Actions.
- Choose Communication.
- Select Instagram Interactive Messenger.
Components
The Instagram Interactive Messenger action includes several components to enhance your messaging:
- Action Name: The name that appears in your workflow.
- Reply Type:
- Reply to Comment via DM: Use this when the trigger is a new comment, and you want to start a DM conversation.
- Reply to DM: Use this when responding directly to a DM.
- Templates: Utilize snippets from Marketing > Snippets.
- Message:
- Body: Craft your message here.
- Custom Values: Insert values created in Settings > Custom Values.
- Trigger Links: Include links created in Marketing > Trigger Links.
- Add Attachment: Upload a file from your computer.
- Add file through URL: Attach a file via URL.
- Add New Button: Insert an interactive button to guide the conversation.
- Add Quick Reply: Add a quick reply option to streamline responses.
- Wait Step: Set the interval between sending the message and moving to the next workflow step.
Components - Buttons & Quick Replies
Buttons and Quick Replies are key to making your messages interactive, allowing you to guide conversations along pre-defined paths.

- Remain visible even after interaction.
- You can add up to 3 buttons.

- Designed for one-tap responses.
- Disappear after selection, keeping the conversation focused.
- You can add up to 13 quick replies.
In Instagram Interactive Messenger, you can add either buttons or quick replies in a message. Quick replies are only available when no attachments are included. Unlike Facebook Interactive Messenger, where you can combine buttons, quick replies, and files in one action.
Button Options:
- Open Website: Opens a URL in a new tab, keeping the button active.
- Call Number: Opens the user's dialer without affecting the conversation.
- Perform Action: Triggers a workflow branch without a specific event.
Quick Reply Options:
- Quick replies create a workflow branch and display text in the conversation. They help streamline user interactions by offering predefined responses.
