Components - Buttons & Quick Replies

Buttons and Quick Replies are essential for making your Messenger interactions truly interactive. They allow you to guide conversations down predefined paths.

Buttons

Buttons are used for persistent actions and can perform tasks such as:

  • Open Website: Add a URL that opens in a new tab when clicked, keeping the conversation intact.
  • Call Number: Add a phone number that opens the dialer when clicked, allowing users to call directly.
  • Perform Action: Create a workflow branch to proceed to the next action without a specific event.

You can add up to three buttons, which remain visible even after interaction.

Quick Replies

Quick Replies are designed to guide conversations with one-tap response options. They disappear after selection, keeping the conversation focused. You can add up to 13 quick replies. Note that Quick Replies can only be added when no attachments are included in the same message.

In Facebook Interactive Messenger, you can combine Buttons, Quick Replies, and Files in one action. However, in Instagram Interactive Messenger, you can only add either buttons or Quick Replies per message.
