Workflow Action: Update Appointment Status

Overview​

The Update Appointment Status action in Stack allows you to change the status of an appointment linked to a contact within a workflow. This feature is particularly useful for keeping appointment records current by updating them to statuses like confirmed, cancelled, or showed. If your workflow starts with an appointment-related event, such as "Appointment" or "Customer Book Appointment," the action will automatically update the status of the appointment that initiated the workflow. If not, it will update the most recent appointment for that contact.

This action is designed to modify the status of an existing appointment within a workflow. It ensures that the appointment reflects the most current status based on how the workflow was triggered, whether through appointment-related events or other triggers.

How to Configure​

  • Action Name:
    Choose a name for the action, such as "Update Appointment Status."

  • Status:
    Select the desired appointment status from the dropdown menu. Available options include:

    • New
    • Confirmed
    • Cancelled
    • Showed
    • No-show
    • Invalid

This action will update either the appointment that triggered the workflow or the most recent appointment for the contact.

  • Status:
    The new status to which the appointment will be updated (e.g., New, Confirmed, Cancelled, Showed, No-show, Invalid).
    Mandatory: Yes

Example​

Imagine a customer cancels their appointment. You can use this action to automatically change the appointment status to "Cancelled." Similarly, if a customer attends their appointment, the status can be updated to "Showed" to indicate that the appointment was attended.
