Tracking Viewer Progress on a Funnel Hosted Video

With Stack, you can track how far visitors progress through videos hosted on your funnels and websites. This feature allows you to trigger workflows based on a visitor's video completion percentage, enabling more personalized engagement.

How to Prepare Your Video for Progress Tracking

To effectively track video progress and trigger workflows, follow these steps:

  1. Encode Your Video
Ensure your video is properly encoded. This step is crucial for the video to be recognized by the Video Tracking Workflow Trigger.

  2. Disable the Progress Bar
In the Video Element settings, turn off the Show Progress Bar. This prevents viewers from skipping around in the video, ensuring accurate tracking of their progress.

  3. Redirect Unregistered Visitors
Set up a redirect for visitors who are not registered. This helps manage who can access your content and ensures your tracking data is reliable.

Setting Up the Video Tracking Workflow

To set up a workflow that tracks video progress:

  1. Create a Workflow
Use the Workflow Builder to create a new workflow that includes a Video Tracking Trigger.

  2. Configure the Trigger
Set the trigger to activate based on the desired completion percentage. This allows you to decide at what point in the video a workflow should be initiated.

Important Note

The accuracy of video tracking is highly dependent on whether the progress bar is disabled. Keeping the progress bar enabled may lead to inaccurate tracking results, as viewers can skip segments of the video.
