How to Use Domain Connect

Note: This is a domain connection feature, not a domain hosting feature. Ensure you have purchased your domain through Google Domains, GoDaddy, or Cloudflare for this to work.

  1. Access Settings:

    • Log in to your Stack account and navigate to Settings > Domains.
  2. Add Your Domain:

    • Click on the Add Domain button.
    • Enter your root domain or subdomain in the provided field. If you wish to add the "www" subdomain, you can opt to do so.
  3. Proceed with Authorization:

    • Click Continue.
    • If your domain is with Google Domains, GoDaddy, or Cloudflare, click the Authorize button to allow Domain Connect to access your DNS settings.
    • Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the authorization process on your domain provider's site. This will automatically add the necessary DNS records.
  4. Complete the Process:

    • Once authorization is complete, close the provider tab and return to the Domain Connect interface in Stack.
    • Verify that the connection has been successfully established by testing your domain. Changes may take up to 30 seconds or more to reflect.

Note: If your provider isn't supported, you can manually add the required DNS records using the instructions provided in the interface.

Q: What if my domain provider is not one of the top three supported by Domain Connect?
A: You can manually add the required DNS records. The manual configuration process remains unchanged.

Q: What if I toggle on the option for "Also add www domain" but my www subdomain is already pointed to another system?
