Authorizing Card Payments Using the Old Funnel Builder in Stack

Overview

In this guide, we'll walk through the process of authorizing card payments using version 1 of Stack's page builder. This feature is useful for verifying payment methods before completing purchases.

How Payment Authorization Works

Payment authorization in Stack is an optional feature that requires a few extra steps to set up. Here’s a quick overview of how it functions:

  • The system temporarily deducts a specified amount from the client's bank account. This amount is later credited back.
  • If the account lacks sufficient funds during authorization, the client cannot proceed.
  • Once authorization is approved, the amount is refunded, which may take up to 5 business days.
  • This feature is applicable only for Subscriptions and Payment Plans.
  • If you wish to authorize payments for multiple plans, repeat the process for each plan linked to the payment form.

Authorizing a Payment in Version 1 of the Page Builder

Follow these steps to authorize a payment:

  1. Access Your Funnel or Website Builder

    • Navigate to the funnel step where your products are listed.
  2. Select Products

    • Click on the Products tab.
  3. Edit Product Settings

    • Click the Edit icon next to the product you want to configure.
  4. Enable Card Authorization

    • Click on Authorize Card.
  5. Set the Authorization Amount

    • Enter the dollar amount you wish to authorize. For example, authorizing "$1" will deduct this amount temporarily from the client's account and refund it later.

Note: Ensure the client has sufficient funds; otherwise, they cannot proceed.

  6. Choose the Currency

    • Click on Currency and select the desired currency. For example, choose USD.
  7. Update Settings

    • Click Update to save your changes.

By following these steps, you can successfully set up payment authorization for your products in Stack, ensuring that client payment methods are verified before completing transactions.
