How to Obtain the Embed Code for Web Chat​

To get started, you'll need the embed code for your chat widget. Follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Sites in your Stack account.
  2. Go to Chat Widget.
  3. Click on Get Code to copy the embed code.

Adding the Chat Widget to Wix​

There are two methods to add the Stack chat widget to your Wix website. Choose the one that suits you best.

Method 1: Using Wix Dashboard​

  1. Log in to your Wix account and go to your website's dashboard.
  2. Click on Settings from the left menu.
  3. Under the Advanced tab, select Custom Code.
  4. Click Add Custom Code.
  5. In the pop-up window, paste the code snippet into Code Settings.
  6. Configure the following options:
    • Name: Enter a name for your code.
    • Add Code to Pages: Select All Pages and choose Load code once.
    • Place Code In: Choose Head.
  7. Click Apply to save your changes.

Your chat widget will now appear on every page of your Wix site!

Method 2: Using Wix Editor​

  1. Sign in to your Wix account and open the Wix Editor by clicking Edit Site from the Dashboard.
  2. Click the plus (+) icon in the left-side menu to access Add Elements.
  3. Choose Embed from the left sidebar menu.
  4. Select Embed HTML under Popular Embeds.
  5. In the new HTML box that appears, click on Code.
  6. Paste the widget code into the text field and press Update.
  7. Close the HTML Settings box.

The widget will now be visible in the HTML box on your page.
