Enhancements to Blogs

Blogs in Stack have undergone several enhancements to improve usability and SEO. Here's what's new:

URL Simplification

We've streamlined the blog URLs for better clarity and SEO performance:

  • For a primary domain (e.g., abc.com):

    • Blog home: abc.com/blog
    • Blog post: abc.com/post/post-name
    • Category: abc.com/blog/category/category-name
    • Tag: abc.com/blog/tag/tag-name
    • Author: abc.com/blog/author/author-name
  • For a subdomain (e.g., blog.abc.com):

    • Blog home: blog.abc.com
    • Blog post: blog.abc.com/post/post-name
    • Category: blog.abc.com/category/category-name
    • Tag: blog.abc.com/tag/tag-name
    • Author: blog.abc.com/author/author-name

Automated Sitemap

With Stack, your sitemap updates automatically whenever you publish a new blog post. This means you no longer need to manually update your sitemap or add a robots.txt file.

Open Each Blog Post in a New Page

Each blog post now opens in a new page, enhancing the reader's experience. You can customize the appearance with forms, comment areas, or other elements like text, subtext, or calendars.

Enhanced SEO with Canonical Tags

Canonical tags are now automatically added to guide search engines on which page version to index. This helps consolidate your page's ranking strength and improves your visibility in search results.

Customization with Layouts and Designs

Enjoy the flexibility to create blogs with custom layouts. Choose what to display in the card view of your blog to best suit your style and audience.

Understanding the New Blog Flow

The redesigned blog flow in Stack is crafted to optimize both creation and navigation. This new structure allows for engaging content presentation and easy reader navigation. For a detailed view, explore our Canva design to see the enhancements in action.

Impact on Existing Blogs and Posts

Existing blogs integrated into funnels and websites will continue to function. However, they may face challenges with URL simplification, canonical URLs, and automatic sitemap updates. Transitioning to the new blog format is recommended to overcome these limitations.

Steps to Migrate to the New Blog

  1. Navigate to Sites > Blogs in your Stack account.

  2. Locate the Default Blog section that contains your existing posts.

  3. Select the checkbox next to the blog post you wish to move.

  4. Click on Move Blog to transition the selected post to the new format.

Note: The old URL will be replaced with a new one, so ensure to update any references.

  5. If your funnel or website includes a blog list element, update it to reflect the new blog and republish your site with the updated blog widget.

By following these steps, you can seamlessly transition to the enhanced blogging experience offered by Stack. Enjoy the improved features and design flexibility!
