Blog and Blog Post Statuses in Stack
Understanding the different statuses available for your blog and blog posts in Stack is essential for managing your content effectively. Here’s a breakdown of what each status means and how you can use them:
Blog Statuses
Draft
- Purpose: Use this status when your blog site is still under development or when you're building content.
- How to Use: Save your content as a draft to keep it in progress without publishing it.
Published
- Purpose: Once your blog site or content is ready for the world, you can publish it.
- How to Use: Click the Publish button, ensuring you include all necessary SEO meta details.
Delete
- Purpose: Remove outdated or unwanted blog content.
- How to Use: Simply delete the blog to clean up your content list.
Blog Post Statuses
Save as Draft
- Purpose: Ideal for posts that are not yet ready for publication or need further updates.
- How to Use: Save the blog post as a draft to continue editing later. If a post is already published but needs to be revised, you can update the post and move it back to draft status by clicking Update Post and then Continue.
Publish
- Purpose: Make your blog post available on your blog's URL.
- How to Use: Choose a publish date, either today or a past date, to control how your content appears chronologically on your site.
Schedule and Publish
- Purpose: Plan your content release by scheduling it for a future date.
- How to Use: Select the Schedule and Publish option and choose a future date for automatic publishing.
Delete
- Purpose: Remove blog posts that do not meet your standards or are no longer needed.
- How to Use: Delete the post directly from the list view.
Archive/Unarchive Post
- Purpose: Temporarily remove posts from the list view without deleting them from the live URL.
- How to Use: Archive a post to hide it from the list view. If you wish to edit and move it back to draft status, update the blog post and click Continue to save it as a draft. Unarchive to make it visible again in the list view.
