User Permissions, Assigned Data, and Owners in Stack

Understanding User Permissions

User permissions in Stack allow you to control access to various features and areas within your account. This is particularly useful if you want to limit what different team members can see and do.

Setting User Permissions

To set user permissions for your team members:

  1. Navigate to Account > Settings > My Staff.
  2. Find the team member whose permissions you want to adjust.
  3. Click the Action button (Pencil icon) next to their name.
  4. Select Roles & Permissions.
  5. Use the checkboxes and sliders to configure the desired permissions for that user.
  6. Click Save to apply the changes.

Limiting Access with "Only Assigned Data"

The "Only Assigned Data" feature is an excellent way to ensure that users only interact with data they are directly responsible for. This feature limits access to:

  • Contacts: Users will only see contacts assigned to them, along with related conversations.
  • Campaigns (Read-Only): Users can view campaign details but cannot make edits.
  • Calendar: Users will only see their assigned calendar and scheduled meetings.
  • Pipeline/Opportunities: Users will only access opportunities assigned to them in the pipeline.

Important Note

Activating the "Only Assigned Data" feature restricts user access to certain functionalities, such as tags, funnels, and workflows, which cannot be assigned individually. This ensures that users focus solely on their designated tasks and data.
