How to Dispute a Google Review and Check the Dispute Status in Stack

When you flag a review as inappropriate on Google, they may take action, such as removing the review or banning the reviewer from posting future reviews. This typically happens if the review breaches Google's guidelines, like containing spam or offensive language. If you suspect a review is fake or biased, you can report it to Google for further investigation.

Reporting a Google Review from the Conversations Tab

To report a Google review within Stack's CRM, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Conversations tab.
  2. Search for the contact associated with the review you wish to dispute.
  3. Click on Dispute this review.

You'll need to confirm your Google email and the business account linked to the Google My Business (GMB) review in question. After confirmation, you can choose to:

  • Report a Review: Select this option if you want to submit a takedown request for a new review. Google will display a list of your recent reviews, allowing you to view them on Google Maps or proceed with the request.

Checking the Status of Reported Reviews

To check the status of a review you've already reported:

  1. Click on the link provided to check the status.
  2. You will see the reviews you've reported along with their current status.
  3. Select a review to view a summary and, if necessary, submit an appeal if your initial takedown request was not accepted.

Note: Google limits the number of reviews displayed for status checks. This feature may not be available for accounts with numerous business listings.
