Creating and Scheduling Custom Reports in Stack

Custom Reports in Stack allow you to design and schedule personalized reports, ideal for sharing insights and data with your team or clients. Whether you start from scratch or transform an existing dashboard, you have full control over your report’s design, content, and schedule. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you get started.

Step 1: Access Custom Reports

  1. Navigate to the Reporting section.
  2. Click on Custom Reports.
  3. Select New Report to begin building your report.

Step 2: Start from Scratch or Use an Existing Dashboard

  • Choose to create a report from scratch or convert an existing dashboard into a report.

Step 3: Using the Report Builder

  • If starting from scratch, you'll enter the Report Builder.
  • At the top, rename your report to reflect its purpose.

Step 4: Customize the Cover Page

  • The first page is the cover page, customizable through the Page Properties menu on the right.

Page Properties Options:

  • Upload your company logo.
  • Configure headers for each page.
  • Adjust the background color of the report pages.

Step 5: Adding Widgets, Sections, and Themes

  1. Once your cover page is set, click the + icon on the left to add widgets.
  2. Use the widget sidebar to upload or customize widgets for your report.
  3. Utilize the Elements Menu to add titles and organize your report into sections.
  4. Switch to the Themes section to apply a predefined theme or create a custom theme.

Step 6: Managing Pages

  • To add a new page, click the + icon at the top or bottom of an existing page.
  • Click the Page Icon to view all pages.
  • Drag and drop pages to reorder and rename them for better organization.

Step 7: Download Your Report

  • Click the Download button at the top to download a PDF version of your report.

Step 8: Save, Send, or Schedule Your Report

  • After creating your report, click Save and then choose Send or Schedule.

Step 9: Configure Your Report’s Schedule and Delivery

  • Frequency: Set how often the report should be sent (e.g., daily, weekly).
  • Time: Select the exact time for delivery.
  • Date Range: Choose the data period to include.
  • Widget-Level Date Settings: Enable to retain custom date ranges in the emailed report.
  • Comparison Trends: Use the "Compare With" option to add trends and comparison data.
  • Sender Email: Customize the email address for sending the report.
  • Subject: Add a subject line for the report email.
  • Recipients: Enter the recipients' email addresses.
  • Optional Email Body: Add a custom message if needed.

Step 10: Send a Test Email

  • Before finalizing, send a test email to check the report's appearance for recipients.

Step 11: Final Step – Save and Schedule

  • Once everything looks good, click Save and Schedule to automatically send your report based on the configured schedule.

Important Note:

Images and iframes appear in the report preview sent to recipients, but they are not included in the PDF export due to security restrictions.
