If you're using a 10-digit long code (10DLC) phone number to send messages (SMS or MMS) to U.S. consumers, it's crucial to register your numbers for A2P 10DLC. This ensures your messages are delivered efficiently and avoids increased fees.

What You Need to Know​

To send messages in the U.S., all 10DLC phone numbers must be registered. AT&T and T-Mobile are increasing fees for unregistered messages to encourage registration. Unregistered numbers may face additional filtering or blocking.

Key Dates for Carrier Fee Changes​

  • June 1, 2023:

    • AT&T SMS: $0.01 per unregistered message
    • AT&T MMS: $0.015 per unregistered message
    • T-Mobile SMS: $0.005 per unregistered message
    • T-Mobile MMS: $0.014 per unregistered message

  • August 1, 2023:

    • T-Mobile SMS: $0.006 per unregistered message
    • T-Mobile MMS: $0.015 per unregistered message
