Creating Coupons for Products in Stack

Coupons are a fantastic way to boost sales by offering discounts on your products. In Stack, you can create coupons for both one-time and recurring products, including main and bump products in V2 Funnels. However, please note that coupons cannot be applied to one-click upsells.

What is a Coupon?

A coupon is a discount offer provided by a business to encourage purchases. When you apply a coupon code, you receive a discount on the product or service you're buying.

Types of Coupons Supported

Stack supports two types of coupons:

  • Percentage Coupon: Offers a percentage-based discount on the order value.
  • Fixed Coupon: Provides a fixed discount amount, regardless of the order value.

Important Notes

  • Coupon codes are not case-sensitive and are automatically converted to uppercase.
  • Spaces and special characters are not allowed in coupon codes.
  • Customers can use a coupon code for a 100% discount on the cart value. However, they must enter their card details to save credit card information for potential upsells.
  • Only Stripe supports 100% discounts on order amounts. If both Stripe and PayPal are available, the PayPal option will be hidden during checkout.

Creating and Adding Coupons to Products

To create and add coupons to your products, follow these steps:

  1. Generate a Coupon Code: Use the Generate feature to create a 7-character alphanumeric code.
  2. Set Coupon Details: Define the coupon type (percentage or fixed), and set any limitations such as the number of redemptions or applicable products.
  3. Apply to Products: Assign the coupon to specific products or allow it for all products.

Capturing Coupon Transactions

When a coupon is applied, the details are recorded in the order details:

  • The coupon discount is shown as a line item alongside individual products.
  • Discounts are distributed based on the product values in the cart.
  • For cart-level discounts, the discount is spread across all products according to their value.
