Managing Multiple Opportunities in Stack Workflows
Overview
In Stack, workflows traditionally handle only the most recent opportunity linked to a contact. However, with the "Allow Multiple Opportunity" feature, you can now manage multiple opportunities for a single contact more effectively. This feature ensures that each contact-opportunity pair executes its own workflow, enhancing precision in opportunity management.
Setting Name
Allow Multiple Opportunity
Setting Description
When the "Allow Multiple Opportunity" toggle is activated:
- Each opportunity linked to a contact will enter the workflow as a separate execution.
- Updates to an opportunity won't restart the workflow. Instead, the workflow continues from its current stage, using the updated opportunity values.
How to Configure
To enable the "Allow Multiple Opportunity" feature in your workflow:
-
Access Workflow Settings:
- Navigate to the workflow settings page within Stack.
-
Locate the Toggle:
- Find the "Allow Multiple Opportunity" toggle at the top of the settings, near the "Allow Re-entry" option.
-
Enable the Feature:
- Switch the "Allow Multiple Opportunity" toggle to "ON".
-
Save Your Changes:
- Ensure you save the settings to activate the feature.
Example
Imagine you are a real estate agent working with a client interested in two properties. You have a contact, "John Doe," with two opportunities: "1 Madison Avenue" and "2 Nice Street."
You have a workflow that triggers whenever an opportunity is updated and sends a reminder SMS to the contact two days later.
-
If "Allow Multiple Opportunity" is OFF:
- When "1 Madison Avenue" is updated on 1/1/2024 at 8 AM, an SMS is sent to John Doe.
- If "2 Nice Street" is updated on 1/1/2024 at 12 PM, subsequent actions are skipped.
-
If "Allow Multiple Opportunity" is ON:
- When "1 Madison Avenue" is updated on 1/1/2024 at 8 AM, an SMS is sent to John Doe.
- When "2 Nice Street" is updated on 1/1/2024 at 12 PM, another SMS is sent to John Doe.
This ensures both opportunities are managed independently within the system.
