How to Accept Payments Using a Hardware Terminal

To start accepting payments with your Stripe terminal, follow these steps:

  1. Install the Stack Mobile App
Make sure you have the Stack mobile app installed on your device.

  2. Access Payment Device Settings

    • Open the app and navigate to the Settings by tapping the gear icon in the navigation menu.
    • Select Payment Devices.
  3. Connect Your Payment Terminal

    • If it's your first time connecting a device, the app will automatically enter pairing mode. Ensure your payment terminal is powered on and has at least 25% battery.
    • Once your terminal appears on the pairing screen, tap Connect. The app will verify the terminal for updates and check its status. After the pairing process is complete and any necessary updates are installed, your terminal is ready to use.
  4. Process a Payment

    • Navigate to either the POS tab or Invoices, depending on your needs.
    • On the payment instruments screen, tap the tile labeled Pay with Hardware. This will prompt the terminal to accept payment.
    • Your customer can then complete the transaction by tapping, inserting, or swiping their card.
