Private and Public Groups
Within your Community's settings, you can choose to set up your group as either Public or Private. This flexibility lets you decide how exclusive you want your group to be.
One-Time Payment
Offer unlimited access to your group with a one-time payment. Here's how to set it up:
- Log into your Community.
- Navigate to Settings > Subscriptions.
- Click Add new price and specify:
- Amount
- Type as one-time
- Click Add and then Save to finalize your paid group with a One-time Payment option.
Note: To test payments, enable the Test Mode. Once configured, your group description will update to reflect this payment option for potential members.
Recurring Subscription
Provide limited-time access with a recurring subscription. Follow these steps to set it up:
- Log into your Community.
- Navigate to Settings > Subscriptions.
- Click Add new price and specify:
- Amount
- Type as Recurring
- Trial Days (if any)
- Billing Period as Monthly or Annually
- Click Add and then Save to establish your paid group with a Recurring Subscription.
Note: Enable Test Mode to simulate payments. Your group description will automatically update to inform interested members.
Group Access
After payment, here's how access is granted:
- Private Groups: Admins and owners can approve or deny membership requests by navigating to the People Tab, using the Filter for Requested, and selecting Accept or Deny Membership.
- Public Groups: Once payment is made, users automatically become members upon signing up.
Notifications
Both admins and users receive notifications regarding payments:
- Admins get an email with payment details and membership requests.
- Users receive a payment confirmation and, once approved, a notification about their membership and group access.
Cancellations and Refunds
Subscription Cancellations
When a user cancels their subscription:
- They receive a cancellation confirmation email.
- Admins are notified of the cancellation.
- The user is automatically removed from the group.
Refunds
Refunds can be processed through Stack Payments or Stripe:
- Stack Payments: Go to Payments > Transactions, click the three dots next to the transaction, and select Refund.
- Stripe: Refunds can be issued directly from the Stripe contact details screen.
Restoring Deleted Contact Cards
If a user's contact card is deleted and later restored, they will be reinstated in the group without needing to repay.
Currency Charge Limits
For information on minimum and maximum charge amounts in different currencies, please refer to Stripe's currency documentation.
