How to Use the Community Tagging Feature in Stack
Engaging with your community on Stack is now easier than ever! Our new tagging feature allows you to mention specific members in both posts and comments. This not only boosts engagement but also helps keep conversations organized.
Using Tags in Posts
Start a Tag
- While drafting a post, type the "@" symbol followed by the initial characters of the member's name.
Selecting a Member
- As you type, a list of relevant members will appear, filtered based on your input. Use the arrow keys to highlight a name or click directly on it. When you hover over a name, it will be highlighted in blue.
Inserting the Tag
- Once selected, the member's name will appear in your post as a highlighted tag.
Publishing
- After crafting your post, click publish. Tagged members will receive a notification about their mention.

- When writing a comment, initiate the tag by typing the "@" symbol followed by part of the member's name.
Selecting a Member
- A dropdown will show relevant members. Hover over a name to see it highlighted in blue, then click to select.
Inserting the Tag
- The selected member's name will be embedded in your comment as a highlighted tag.
Publishing
- Once your comment is ready, publish it. Tagged members will be notified of their mention.
