What is the Instagram Story Post Composer?​

The Instagram Story Post Composer is a feature within Stack's Social Planner that allows you to manage your Instagram stories seamlessly. Tailored for Instagram Professional accounts, it lets you create and schedule stories, whether you want them to go live immediately or at a later date.

This feature supports uploading up to 10 images or videos per story, allowing for rich, dynamic content. Keep in mind the file size limits: images should be under 8 MB, and videos should not exceed 60 seconds.

How to Create Your Instagram Story​

Before You Begin​

Ensure you have:

  • Added an Instagram Professional account.
  • Uploaded your images and videos to the Media Library.

Steps to Create a Story​

  1. Access Marketing:

    • Navigate to the "Marketing" section in Stack.

  2. Open Social Planner:

    • Go to the Social Planner to start creating your story.

  3. Start a New Post:

    • Click on "New Post" to begin.

  4. Create Your Post:

    • Select "Create New Post."

  5. Select Social Account:

    • Under "Post to," choose your Instagram Professional account(s).

    Note: Only stories posted to Instagram Professional accounts will be visible.

  6. Choose Content Type:

    • Select "story" as your content type.

  7. Upload Media:

    • Click "Upload image or video" to add up to 10 images or videos.

    Note: Adding captions or text directly through Stack is not supported. Ensure your images are under 8 MB and videos are less than 60 seconds.

  8. Schedule Your Post:

    • Use the arrow next to "Post" to schedule when your story will go live.

  9. Save as Draft:

    • If needed, click "Save for Later" to save your work as a draft.

No, adding text or stickers directly through third-party tools like Stack is not supported. These elements must be added within the Instagram app.

Can I tag people or businesses in my stories through Social Planner?

Tagging is not possible through third-party tools and must be done directly in the Instagram app. For updates, refer to Instagram's API documentation or contact our support team.

Is Instagram story supported for both creator and business accounts?

Currently, Instagram story posting is supported only for business accounts due to API limitations from Meta.
