How to Schedule Posts in Bulk on the Social Planner Using CSV

Scheduling social media posts in bulk using a CSV file can save you a lot of time, allowing you to plan your social media journey efficiently. A CSV, or "comma-separated values" file, lets you organize your information in a structured format.

Getting Started with Bulk Scheduling

When your social media marketing efforts expand, posting across various platforms individually can become cumbersome. Stack's Social Planner allows you to schedule posts in bulk, streamlining your workflow.

Pre-requisites for Your CSV File

Before importing your CSV file into the Social Planner, ensure it meets the following criteria:

  1. Date and Time Column:

    • Format the date and time as follows: YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm, YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm:ss, YYYY/MM/DD HH:mm:ss, YYYY/MM/DD HH:mm, M/D/YYYY H:mm:ss, or M/D/YYYY H:mm.
    • Use the 24-hour format. For example, 2025-08-25 21:30.
    • If this column is empty, the post will be saved as a draft.
    • Ensure the column header is postAtSpecificTime.

    Tip: Schedule times should be at least 10 minutes after uploading the CSV. For example, if a post is scheduled for 2023-10-14 15:00, upload the CSV by 14:50.

  2. Content Column:

    • Enter the text for your post, including hashtags if desired.
    • The column header should be content.
    • Ensure the caption complies with character limits of the respective social media platform.
  3. Preview Link:

    • Add the URL for the link preview in your post.
    • The column header should be link (OGmetaUrl).
    • Note: If you include images, GIFs, or videos, they will override this link and append it to the content.
  4. Image URL:

    • Add URLs for images, separated by commas if multiple.
    • The column header should be imageUrls.
    • Supported formats include PNG and JPEG/JPG, with a maximum of 10 images.
  5. GIF URL:

    • Add the URL for a GIF.
    • The column header should be gifUrl.
    • Note: Do not fill in other media-related columns if using this.
  6. Video URL:

    • Add URLs for videos, separated by commas if multiple.
    • The column header should be videoUrls.
    • A maximum of 10 videos is supported per post.
    • Note: Do not fill in other media-related columns if using this.

Steps to Bulk Schedule Posts

  1. Navigate to the Social Planner and click on New Post.
  2. Select Upload from CSV.
  3. Upload your CSV file with the post details.
  4. Choose the social platforms for scheduling and send for approval.
  5. Click View Posts to review all posts and address any errors, such as incorrect scheduling dates.
  6. Once errors are resolved, click Schedule to import the posts into the Social Planner.

Tip: Due to changes by Google, Google Drive links cannot be processed in CSV imports. Use links from the Media Library instead.

You can upload up to 90 posts per CSV file. Distribute these across the social platforms you are targeting.
