How to View Hidden or Broken Elements in Stack Emails

When designing emails in Stack, you might encounter situations where elements become hidden due to reduced height, width, or padding. Fortunately, Stack provides a feature to help you locate and manage these elements using the element tree.

Accessing the Element Tree

To find hidden or broken elements in your email template, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Email Builder:

    • Navigate to the email builder where your template is located.
  2. Locate the Burger Menu:

    • At the bottom of the Content tab, look for a burger menu icon. This menu gives you access to additional options for managing your template.
  3. Open the Layer Section:

    • Click on the burger menu to open the Layer section. This section displays the complete element tree of your email template.
  4. Explore Child Elements:

    • Within the Layer section, click on the plus icon to expand and view all child elements of a section. This helps you identify any elements that might be hidden.
  5. Navigate to Hidden Elements:

    • As you hover over elements in the tree, the email builder will automatically scroll to the corresponding element in your template. This feature makes it easy to locate elements that are not immediately visible.

Example Scenario

If you reduce the height of an image to 10 pixels, it may not appear in the email builder. To access this image:

  • Use the Manage Template menu to navigate through the element tree.
  • Hover over the first image in the first section to locate and edit it.

By following these steps, you can efficiently manage and edit all elements within your Stack email templates, ensuring nothing goes unnoticed.
