Ad Manager: Defining Your Campaign Budget

In this guide, we'll explore how to define the budget for an ad campaign using Stack's Ad Manager.

Understanding Your Campaign Budget

Setting up a budget is a crucial part of launching a Facebook Ad campaign. During the second step of the campaign setup process, you'll decide on either a daily or lifetime budget. This budget will determine how much you spend on your campaign, and the specified amount will be charged to the card linked to your Meta Ad account.

Considerations for Your Budget

When selecting a budget, align it with your business objectives. Consider your target audience, the services you provide, and your overall business goals.

Note: The currency and timezone settings of your connected Meta Ad account will automatically apply to your budget.

Once your campaign is live, it will automatically renew each month. If you wish to stop the campaign, you can pause or delete it.

Pro Tip: Allow your campaign to run for a few months. This gives Ad Manager time to learn and optimize your ads for better results.

Setting a Daily Budget

A daily budget represents the average amount you intend to spend each day on your ad campaign. Note that actual daily spending may vary slightly, but it will average out over a week.

Example

If your daily budget is set to $1000, Facebook might spend $1100 one day and less on other days within the weekly cycle. However, your total weekly spend will not exceed $7000.

For more details on how daily budgets work, refer to Facebook's Help Center.

How to Set a Daily Budget

  1. Go to New Campaign.
  2. Navigate to Budget and Audience (Step 2) in the campaign creation flow.
  3. In the Budget section, select the Daily toggle and enter your desired daily budget.
  4. Add other campaign details as needed.
  5. Click Next to review your ad and budget.

Please Note:

  • You can edit the daily budget when the campaign is in 'Paused', 'Failed', or 'Draft' status. Once the campaign is 'Published' or 'In Review', the budget cannot be changed.
  • Switching between Daily and Lifetime budgets is not possible when the campaign is 'Paused', 'Published', or 'In Review'.

Setting a Lifetime Budget

A lifetime budget is the total amount you plan to spend over the entire campaign duration. This option is ideal if you want to cap your total spending while allowing flexibility in daily expenditures.

How to Set a Lifetime Budget

  1. Go to New Campaign.
  2. Navigate to Budget and Audience (Step 2) in the campaign setup flow.
  3. In the Budget section, select the Lifetime toggle and enter your desired lifetime budget.
  4. Use the date and time picker to set the campaign's start and end dates. The budget will be distributed over this period.
  5. Add other campaign details as needed.
  6. Click Next to review your ad and budget.

Please Note:

  • You can edit the lifetime budget when the campaign is in 'Paused', 'Failed', or 'Draft' status. Once the campaign is 'Published' or 'In Review', the budget cannot be changed.
  • The start and end dates cannot be edited for 'Published' and 'In Review' campaigns. However, they can be adjusted for 'Draft' and 'Failed' campaigns. For 'Paused' campaigns, only the end date can be modified.

With these steps, you're ready to effectively manage your campaign budgets in Stack's Ad Manager.
