Google Business Profile - Chat Feature Update

What's Happening?​

Google is phasing out the Google Business Profile - Chat feature starting July 15, 2024. We understand this change might be inconvenient, and we're here to guide you through it.

Timeline​

  • July 15, 2024: Your contacts will no longer be able to initiate new chat conversations with your business via Google. Any ongoing chat conversations will receive a notification from Google about this change.

  • July 31, 2024: The chat feature will be completely removed from Google Business Profile, and you will no longer receive new chat messages.

Contact Notifications​

Starting July 15, 2024, contacts engaged in existing chat conversations will see notifications about the feature's phaseout. These notifications will continue to appear until the chat service ends on July 31, 2024.

To ensure your customers can still reach you, please check if your Business Profile includes a visible phone number. If it is missing or hidden, consider adding it by July 31, 2024. This will help maintain direct communication with your customers.
