Setting a Default Dashboard in Stack
Default Dashboards in Stack are designed to streamline collaboration and ensure your team always has access to the most critical insights. When you set a default dashboard, it becomes the first thing your team members see upon navigating to the dashboard section, providing instant access to essential metrics and insights.
Steps to Set a Default Dashboard
Step 1: Navigate to the Dashboard
First, go to the dashboard you wish to set as the default. This should be the dashboard that contains the most important metrics for your team.
Step 2: Access the Dashboard Menu
In the top right corner of the dashboard, click on the three-dot menu. This menu contains various options for managing your dashboard.
Step 3: Set as Default Dashboard
From the menu, select the option to "Set as Default Dashboard."
Step 4: Confirm Your Selection
A prompt will appear to confirm your choice. Confirm to finalize setting this dashboard as the default.
Important Notes
- Permissions Required: Only users with Account Admin roles can set a default dashboard. Ensure you have the necessary permissions.
- Viewing Permissions: All team members need at least VIEW permission for the dashboard to be set as default.
- Non-Deletable Default Dashboards: Once a dashboard is set as default, it cannot be deleted until another dashboard is assigned as default.
- Default vs. Pinned Dashboards: Default dashboards serve as the primary landing page for all users. In contrast, pinned dashboards are personal favorites that individual users can access quickly.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your default dashboard changing unexpectedly, you can reset it by following the steps above. Existing dashboards and widgets remain unaffected. A recent patch has been deployed to fix a known bug, but if problems persist, please contact our support team for assistance.
