How to Load Snapshots with Dashboards in Stack

With Stack, you can streamline your setup process by using snapshots to quickly configure dashboards across different locations. This feature allows you to create a snapshot of your dashboard setup and apply it to other accounts effortlessly.

Create a New Snapshot​

To start, navigate to the Account Snapshots section within your Stack account. Click on Create New Snapshot and assign a name to your snapshot. Select the account where your desired dashboard setup is currently configured.

Save Your Snapshot​

After naming your snapshot, save it. You'll see it appear in your list of snapshots.

Choose a Target Location​

Decide where you'd like to apply this snapshot. You can select an existing account or create a new one to load your snapshot.

Load the Snapshot​

To load your snapshot, click on Actions and then select Load Snapshot. Find the snapshot you wish to use from your list.

Select Dashboards​

Within the asset list, locate the dashboard category. Choose the dashboards you want to include in the snapshot.

  • Private Dashboards Exclusion: Remember, private dashboards won't appear in the asset list. Ensure the dashboards you want are not private.
  • Default Dashboards: Select a default dashboard to ensure it's included in the target location.

Confirm and Proceed​

Review your selections and proceed with loading the snapshot. You'll receive a notification once the process is complete.

View Loaded Dashboards​

Visit the target location to see your dashboards listed and ready for use.

Important Notes​

  • Include Linked Assets: Dashboards will load with all their widgets, conditions, filters, and custom widgets. Ensure that all linked assets, such as custom values and pipelines, are included. Missing these may result in errors on specific dashboards. Edit and save each widget to resolve any issues.
