How to Duplicate a Dashboard to Another Sub-account in Stack
Duplicating dashboards between sub-accounts in Stack is a straightforward process that allows you to efficiently manage and share your data insights across different teams or projects.
What Is Dashboard Duplication?
In Stack, dashboards are housed within sub-accounts. You can either clone a dashboard within the same sub-account or duplicate it to another sub-account. When duplicating, it's important to note that data sources linked to the dashboard will not automatically transfer. If the original dashboard widgets rely on specific data sources, the duplicated dashboard will require reconfiguration to ensure functionality.
Steps to Duplicate a Dashboard
Step 1: Duplicate to Another Sub-account
- Go to Subaccount > Dashboard.
- Click on the action menu (represented by the three dots).
- Select Duplicate to another sub-account from the menu.
Step 2: Configure and Save
- In the pop-up modal, enter a name for your new dashboard.
- Choose the target sub-account where you want the dashboard duplicated.
- Click the Duplicate button to create the dashboard in the selected sub-account.
Step 3: Connect Broken Data Sources
After duplication, any widgets that use data sources not available in the target sub-account will display with red borders and an error message: "error while loading data". To resolve this:
- Delete the widgets that cannot be connected.
- Alternatively, connect them to available data sources within the new sub-account.
