Assigning a Primary Calendar in Stack
When using Stack, managing your calendar effectively is crucial. This guide will walk you through setting up and understanding the Primary Calendar feature to ensure seamless synchronization with third-party calendars like Google, Outlook, and iCloud.
Overview
In Stack, especially when using Team or Group calendars (such as Round Robin, Service, Class, and Collective Calendars), appointments assigned to a specific user can be synced with third-party calendars. Additionally, events from these external calendars can be integrated back into Stack's CRM system.
Configuring Your Calendar
To set up your calendar, navigate to Settings > My Profile. Here, you will find options for:
- Primary Calendar
- Check for Conflicts
All third-party calendar integrations you've added will be displayed in this section.
Primary Calendar
The Primary Calendar is your main hub for managing events. It is responsible for:
- Writing new appointments to Google, Outlook, or iCloud.
- Reading events from these third-party calendars.
Its primary role is to push new appointments to these external calendars.
Primary Calendar Dropdown
In this dropdown, you will see all the calendars you've integrated with your profile. Note that:
- Disabled calendars may still be included in conflict checks.
- Some calendars may not have write access to Google, affecting their functionality.
Allow Contact Creation
If you want to create appointments directly from your Google or Outlook Calendar, you can enable this feature. Here's how it works:
- Select a Calendar: Choose one from the dropdown to ensure that events with attendees from Google/Outlook are converted into appointments or contacts within Stack.
- Group Calendars: All group calendars you are part of will be listed here for easy selection.
Allow Trigger
This option becomes available when you select a calendar for contact creation. It specifically applies to appointments created via synchronization from Google/Outlook:
- Enable Trigger: If selected, a trigger will activate for appointments created through synchronization.
- Skip Trigger: If not selected, the trigger will not activate.
By understanding and configuring these settings, you can ensure that your calendar in Stack is optimized for your workflow, keeping your appointments and contacts up-to-date across all platforms.
