Hide Third-Party Calendar Details in Stack
Stack offers a Private Mode for Synced Events to help you keep your third-party calendar details confidential. When you enable this setting, only you, the user who connected the calendar, can view the event details. This ensures enhanced privacy and prevents unauthorized access to your third-party calendar events.
How to Use Private Mode
You can manage this feature from two locations within Stack: My Profile and Calendar Connections.
My Profile
- Navigate to Settings > My Profile.
- Scroll down to the Calendar Configuration section.
- Locate the Private Mode for Synced Events option.
- Toggle the setting on or off according to your preference.
Calendar Settings > Connections
- Go to Calendar Settings > Connections.
- Scroll to the Private Mode for Synced Events option.
- Enable or disable the setting as needed.
Important Notes
-
Availability: This feature is available in Labs and is enabled for all users by default. It ensures that your synced events remain visible only to you, giving you complete control over your calendar's privacy.
-
Supported Calendars: This feature supports Google and Outlook calendars. Please note that iCloud does not support private/public event settings, so all iCloud events will be visible to all users.
-
Private Events in Google & Outlook Calendars:
- If an event is marked as private in your third-party calendar (Google/Outlook), it will automatically be hidden in Stack by default, regardless of the "Hide Events" toggle.
- When the "Hide Events" toggle is turned on, all synced events, whether private or public, will display as 'Busy' instead of showing event details.
By using the Private Mode, you can ensure your calendar events are kept confidential and secure within Stack.
