Understanding Contact Timezone
When scheduling an appointment in Stack, contacts have the option to select their local timezone. This ensures that the appointment is booked at the correct local time for them.
Example:
- A contact in New York City schedules an appointment for 5 PM with a business located in San Francisco.
- If the contact timezone feature is disabled, the appointment will be booked for 5 PM PST, aligning with the business's local time.
- If the contact timezone feature is enabled, the appointment will be booked for 5 PM EST, matching the contact's local time, and the business will see it as 2 PM PST.
If you prefer to restrict contacts from adjusting the timezone, you can disable this feature, ensuring appointments are scheduled solely in the business's timezone.
Disabling Contact Timezone
To prevent contacts from scheduling appointments in different time zones, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings > Business Profile.
- Scroll to the General section on the right side of the screen.
- Check the box labeled Disable Contact Timezone.
This setting ensures that all appointments are booked in the business's default timezone.
Setting Your Business's Timezone
It's crucial to set your business's timezone correctly, especially if you disable contact timezone adjustments. Here's how to check or update your business's timezone:
- Navigate to Settings > Business Profile.
- Locate the Time Zone field under the Business Physical Address section on the right side of the screen.
What Contacts See When Scheduling
Contact Timezone Disabled
When the Disable Contact Timezone option is selected, contacts will not see a timezone dropdown in the calendar widget. All appointments will be scheduled according to the business's set timezone.
Contact Timezone Enabled (Default Setting)
By default, the contact timezone feature is enabled. This allows contacts to select their preferred timezone when scheduling appointments, providing flexibility and convenience.
