Introduction to AI Message Details

The AI Message Details feature in Stack allows you to see how AI responses are generated within your conversations. This feature provides transparency, user control, and the opportunity to improve AI performance through real-time feedback and edits.

Key Highlights

  • View AI Message Context: Access the full context of any AI-generated message in the AI Message Details sidebar.
  • Understand AI Components: See details such as the Prompt, Intent, and Knowledge Base/Data Sources used to generate the AI response.
  • Edit Knowledge Base: Make changes to the data chunks from the knowledge base to refine AI responses.

How to Access AI Message Details

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Open the Response Info:

    • Click on the Response Info icon in your conversation view.
  2. Explore the Right Sidebar:

    • Once the sidebar opens, you'll see sections for the prompt, knowledge chunks, and intent.
  3. AI Response Overview:

    • At the top of the sidebar, you'll find the AI-generated message that was sent to the user.
  4. Prompt Details:

    • This section shows the prompt used to create the AI message. You can modify it by selecting the edit prompt option.
  5. View and Edit Data Sources:

    • Navigate to the knowledge chunk section to see the FAQ and website data used by the AI.
    • Click on a knowledge chunk to make corrections. Up to three data chunks are displayed.
    • An editable text box will appear for you to make changes. Save your edits to update the knowledge base immediately.

Note: Data chunks will only appear if the knowledge base was used for the AI response. Updating an FAQ will recreate it, removing the previous version.

Additional Information

  • Visibility: This sidebar is available for all AI messages, AI workflow actions, and bot trial messages.
  • Tagging Edited Information: If you modify knowledge base website information, an "Edited" tag will appear next to the trained website, with a tooltip indicating the update.
  • FAQ & Website Updates: Changes to FAQs will update the existing trained FAQ in real-time. If the website info is updated, it will be reflected in the scraped data modal, with an "Edited" tag beside the URL.
  • Prompt Section Variability: The prompt section may change depending on whether the AI message source is a conversation AI bot or a workflow action.
