Creating WhatsApp Templates

WhatsApp templates in Stack are essential for sending outbound messages. These templates can be customized and categorized for various use cases.

Step 1: Navigate to Template Settings

  1. Go to: Sub-Account → Settings → WhatsApp → Template tab.
  2. Click Create Template.

Step 2: Fill In Template Details

  • Template Name: Use only lowercase characters and no spaces.
  • Category: Choose from:
    • Marketing: For promotional content.
    • Utility: For transactional or service-related messages.
  • Language: Select the language for the message.
  • Header (Optional): Can be static or include one custom variable (e.g., {{1}}).
  • Body: The main message. Use Add Variable to insert placeholders like {{1}}, {{2}}, etc.
  • Footer (Optional): A static message at the bottom of your template.

Note: You must fill in sample values for each variable, as required by Meta for review and approval.

Step 4: Review & Submit

Review your completed template and click Create. The system will automatically submit it to Meta for approval.

Step 5: Track Template Status

  • Pending: Awaiting Meta’s approval.
  • Approved: Ready for use.
  • Rejected: Needs editing and resubmission.

Setting Up an Interactive WhatsApp Template

Step 1: Add Buttons

  1. Go to Settings > WhatsApp > Templates.
  2. Click Create Template and add a button.

  • Quick Reply: Allows users to respond with predefined options.
